The reigning South Korean baseball champions LG Twins announced Sunday they have re-signed manager Youm Kyoung-youb to a three-year contract.
The Twins, the 2025 Korean Series winners, made Youm the highest-paid manager in Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) history by giving him a three-year deal worth up to 3 billion won ($2.06 million). He will make 2.1 billion won in total salary over three years and received a signing bonus of 700 million won. Youm can make another 200 million won in incentives.
Youm, 57, led the Twins to their second Korean Series title in three seasons last month, as they knocked off the Hanwha Eagles in five games of the best-of-seven championship round. The Twins also won the Korean Series championship in 2023 for their first KBO title in 29 years.
Youm is the only manager in Twins history to win multiple titles.
Youm thanked the ownership and the management for giving him the lucrative deal and also expressed his gratitude to fans for their unwavering support.
“I won’t be content with winning two titles,” Youm said. “I will try to mold the LG Twins into a consistent contender.”
