90TAN, a new two-piece unit under K-pop boy band BTOB, debuted Wednesday, showcasing a lively presence with its fresh music.
90TAN, the third unit under BTOB after BTOB BLUE and BTOB 4U, consists of members Seo Eun-kwang and Lee Min-hyuk. The new duo derives its name from both members being born in 1990.
According to its agency, BTOB Company, the duo’s debut single, “TANG TANG TANG,” showcases a more “charismatic, bad-boyish vibe” that distinguishes it from the emotional ballads BTOB has previously presented.
The track blends rock sounds with hip-hop rhythms, with Lee directly participating in the songwriting process. The catchy and easy-to-sing-along chorus is another highlight of the song, according to the label.
Earlier this year, all six members of BTOB established their own label, BTOB Company, to continue their group activities. They also reached an agreement with their former agency on the use of the trademark for their group name.
90TAN is the first unit introduced by BTOB Company since its establishment.
Having premiered “TANG TANG TANG” at Waterbomb Seoul on July 5, the new duo is set to perform at Waterbomb Incheon on Aug. 3 at the SangSang Platform in Incheon.
