The Korea Minting and Security Printing Corp. (KOMSCO) is launching a banknote lithograph featuring “Inwangjesaekdo,” also known as “Scene of Mount Inwang After Rain,” an iconic landscape painting by Jeong Seon (1676-1759).

Launched in collaboration with the National Museum Foundation of Korea, this reproduction of a representative Korean artifact is part of KOMSCO’s efforts to explore new business opportunities. It leverages the company’s world-class currency manufacturing expertise, including advanced lithographic printing techniques.

Crafted with intricate lines and dots, the lithographic printing offers a tactile experience when touched, a key feature of anti-counterfeiting technology. Since this level of detail can only be achieved by minting institutions, it enhances both the rarity and value of the piece.

Available in three sizes, only 2,800 pieces of this lithograph will be produced. Each comes framed, with a protective case, and includes a certificate of authenticity.

Pre-orders will be available through the KOMSCO online shopping mall, as well as the online shops of the National Museum and Hyundai Department Store. A portion of the proceeds will go toward the preservation of Korean cultural heritage.

“The ‘Inwangjesaekdo’ recreated with currency manufacturing technology will be the best choice for those looking for a refined cultural gift or a unique collectible. We will continue to collaborate with various institutions to showcase the excellence of Korean culture through high-quality banknote lithographs,” KOMSCO CEO Sung Chang-hoon said.
